Lilo and Stitch: Forlorn Hawaiian gal being brought up by her older sibling finds a doubtful buddy at the dog pound an alien whom she names Sew. In the mean time, ambassadors from Sew’s world have arrived in this world to recover the damaging little creature. Gorgeous watercolor surroundings are simply spectacular. Cast includes Voices of Daveigh Pursue, Christopher Michael Sanders, Tia Carrere, Kevin McDonald, Ving Rhames, David Ogden Stiers, Zoe Caldwell, Jason Scott Lee, and Kevin Michael Richardson.  (85 minutes, 2002)

Last summer: Commanding tale based on Evan Hunter novel of adolescents playing on the shore in a summer resort. The film follows their games, sensual awakenings, and how evil materializes itself with incredible determination. Cathy Bums was a standout. Cast includes Richard Thomas, Barbara Hershey, Bruce Davison, Cathy Burns, Ralph Waite, and Conrad Bain. (97 minutes, 1969)

The Fog: A thick haze from the Pacific hangs over a Northwest seaside village, bringing with it murderous and vengeful ghosts. Lame redo of John Carpenter’s 1980 film modifies the structure but does not improve on the first edition. Cast includes Tom Welling, Maggie Grace, Selma Blair, DeRay Davis, Kenneth Welsh, Adrian Hough, Sara Botsford, and Rade Sherbedgia. (100 minutes, 2005)

Iron Eagle 2: Comparably idiotic sequel, with General Gossett enlisting guide Humphrey to team with his Soviet counterparts on a secret mission in the Mideast. Cast includes Louis Gossett, Jr., Mark Humphrey, Stuart Margolin, Alan Scarfe, Sharon H. Brandon, and Maury Chaykin.  (105 minutes, 1988)

Seminole: Adept cast in uncommon drama in reference to sincere cavalry lieutenant Hudson trying to help Indian tribe’s attempts to prevail free of white man?s law. Cast includes Rock Hudson, Barbara Hale, Anthony Quinn, Richard Carlson, Hugh O’Brian, Russell Johnson, Lee Marvin, and James Best. (87 minutes, 1953)

The Great Man Votes: Straightforward, authentic, admirable film of Barrymore, once a professor, now a divorced man, quarreling for custody of his youngsters. Cast includes John Barrymore, Peter Holden, Virginia Weidler, Donald MacBride, and William Demarest. (112 minutes, 1939)

Trading Hearts: Trading Hearts is a meager baseball romance in which precocious II-yearold Lewis tries to exploit her mom (D’ Angelo), a show-biz failure, into matrimony with busted-down ballplayer Julia. Cast includes Raul Julia, Beverly D’ Angelo, Jenny Lewis, and Parris Buckner. (88 minutes, 1988)

The Thief Came to Dinner: Disheartening caper comedy in reference to a pc master who gets to be a gem robber in Houston’s top inner cirdes. Clayburgh (pre-stardom) has tiny although relating role as O’Neal’s ex-spouse. Cast includes Ryan O’Neal, Jacqueline Bisset, Warren Oates, Jill Clayburgh, Charles Cioffi, Ned Beatty, Austin Pendleton, Gregory Sierra, Michael Murphy, and John Hillerman. (105 minutes, 1973)

The Dunwich Horror: Adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft’s tale in regards to wizard Stockwell’s malevolent plans for lady friend Dee. The movie is often powerful, although the ending spoils the entire film. Cast includes Sandra Dee, Dean Stockwell, Ed Begley, Sam Jaffe, Lloyd Bochner, Joanna Moore, and Talia Coppola.  (90 minutes, 1970)
