France is a country which has a marvellous selection of fishing from North to South and covers the fly fishing, course and sport fishing on a series of rivers and lakes. Further there is a lot of coast line for the sea angler to like it also.

Carp fishing in France, cat fishing, not fail to remember the course and pike fishing are just some of the vacations that you can take pleasure in France and while some places cater for the dedicated angler, others are more family oriented with space and activities for the non fishers.

Many types of fishing that you can enjoy holiday available and for trout fishing, the only frame you are allowed to fish for trout in France is from around the middle to end of March up until approximately the first week of September.

Each country has many unusual regulations and France is no exemption, with exact system in place for what kind of fish you can catch, when you are allowed to catch assured species of fish and what material you are allowed to fish with.

In favor of some, it will be likely to discourage vision, mainly if you are not eloquent in French, and even though in some parts it will be easier than other to classify you fishing location, it is frequently easier to pre-organize your fishing holiday, so do have extra knowledge as much as possible.

If you need to obtain your own fishing permit, these can usually be obtained from the local fishing tackle shop or alternatively from the local bar or tobac. But if you are not sure on what is required then you can get advice from the local tourist information board, which can also provide maps of where you can and cannot fish.

If you prefer only to go on France for a short time, then you can have what is known as The Carte de Peche de Vacances, which covers an angler for up to fifteen consecutive days and can be used between 1st June and 30th November. But in whatever way, outside these dates an annual fishing licence is mandatory.

Greater number of people will wish to opt for a carp fishing holiday on a dedicated lake, you can get a licence to do this in the local rivers or public lakes. And when you go to a dedicated privately owned lake for carp fishing, cat fishing, etc, then you will not normally have to worry about getting your own individual licence as this will already have either been sorted out by the travel agency or the owner under their regulations.

Boats are allowed to be used quite a bit in France, but you may need to have a separate part to your licence to enable you to use a boat, even if it is only for baiting. But be alert if there is an echo sounder in your boat because you are not permitted to have this and your paraphernalia in the boat at the same time!

Besides, night fishing is illegal in several places in France, however when on a confidential fishing pond, or if with the correct license on certain waters, this can be permitted. If not, then you can only fish half hour after sunrise to half hour before sunset. Several places on the rivers seine, Rhone, Mosselle, Oise, Madine and Rhine, etc do make muffled total darkness fishing, but there are many places that do ban the use of a bivvy or tollhouse if nighttime fishing is devote the worded and you may only go away with a brolly!
