Indianapolis Colts professional American football team of the National Football League has an official mascot named Blue.An anthropomorphic blue horsewho wears one of the white Indianapolis Colts NFL jackets with a horseshoe on the front is known as Blue the official mascot of the Indianapolis Colts. In the Colts’ first home regular season game on September 17, 2006 at RCA Dome against Houston Texans in which the Colts won 43-24, Blue was first introduced. Since joining the Colts, Blue is believed to have brought valuable good luck charm for the team while also entertaining Colts fans.
Blue was born in the town of Jockey, Indiana. The young growing horse in a large farm named Blue loves to wear his favorite jackets and watch every Sunday his favorite National Football League team, the Indianapolis Colts.Originally, Blue was training to be a race horse, but he suddenly noticed one day on his fur was a big blue spot. Eventually, he turned completely blue.On the farm, all the other horses ridiculed Blue for his appearance.
Blue decided he couldn’t take any more insults, and chose to run away.In order to survive, he hid in barns and eat corn to be able to make his way all around Southern Indiana. Then one day, while reading the newspaper, Blue discovered that the Colts were having tryouts for the team. While filling out the employment application, after arriving at the Colts Training Camp Complex that he didn’t have a name.
Jim Irsay, Colta Owner/CEO discovered Blue.Irsay realized that the horse Blue while telling his travels and struggle for survival had a serious potential to offer the team.Blue was hired wholeheartedly to serve as the official mascot of the Colts. Today, Blue is a valuable member of the Colts family. Currently, he entertains the fans at Indianapolis’ new home, Lucas Oil Stadium, wears proudly one of his NFL jackets and cheers along with them at every Colts home game.
Blue deserves to be the official mascot of the team as they both have same struggles and experiences. Like the Inidiana Colts, Blue has experienced series of adjustments and changes and yet they remained to be strong and determined as a colt.
